Starbucks- Question # 3 -Karli Mae Ferris

Why do you think that Starbucks has used joint ventures with local companies to enter many foreign markets?

I think they have used these local companies as a source of familiarity for the citizens of the country. If the Starbucks company name is used with a familiar one, then they are more likely to gain foreign customers. The consumers will feel more comfortable going to their shops and buying their products if they are already loyal, comforatble, or familiar with the other local company.

Star Bucks Questions #2 Kathryn Prentiss

I would say that starbucks the perused a great international strategy because as Amanda had stated they really pushed in to the markets for the different customs of the countries they were perusing. Like you can't go anywhere with out hearing about a latté from starbucks. They really took the market they wanted and made it in to a growing establishment not only in the states but also in countries were other products have failed. It has been a great venture for starbucks and they are doing very well in establishing their whole production line as well as the stores in a bunch of different countries.

Starbucks Question #1- Brendan Stribula

Expanding overseas creates value for the company shareholders because it is opening more stores overseas which creates more revenue. The success of a Starbucks overseas raises the revenue which in return will raise the value of the company for its shareholders.
