Is your company's structure tall or flat? How many levels exist in your company's structure?
3M's company structure is tall because 3M has so many subdivisions, branches, and businesses that it would be hard to function as a flat structure. 3M has a board of trustees and Corporate Officers who all report their divisions to the CEO. Countless managers who work under these corporate officers and they have employeees working under them and so on.
