The characteristic that defines me as a leader is committment. When I have my mind set on something I really take the advantage of every opportunity to better the task at hand. I go all the way untill I personally feel satisfied. I currently play in a band. We play all over the boston area. When we practice new tunes I have to make sure its as perfect as possible to be able to feel comfortable playing that tune at the gig. My other bands mates tend to feel comfortable on the tunes that will just get by. I feel we have played places such as The Paradise Lounge because of me saying "Maybe we should play that a few more times" or "I think we should play again tomorrow because i dont think we have this down yet". I was also the captain of my high school football team. I played defense and I would be constantly asking the coach to repeat the same formations even if I already understood it. I wanted to make sure that everybody understood what we were trying to do.
I would say my weakest characteristic is the ability to be informed. I always seem to feel im the last one to know or if I know something I can easily forget. I tend to procrastinate on finding information. I did my intership at the South Shore Conservatory in Massachusetts and I was out in certain scituations where I should have known what was going on and in reality I had no idea. I realized that I really needed to stay on top of the information that is giving to me to be able to do a good job and to not embarress myslef when someone asked me a question that i'm probably suppose to know. I really like repetitive things so I can sink the information in.

In Support of your leadership- Joe Boulanger
Mike, I think you would be a good leader because it seems like you have a lot of leadership experience with your band and being captain of your high school football team. I think a good leader makes sure that things are done right. You mentioned that you like to perfect something in order to make everyone feel comfortable on your team/band. To me that is a good quality to have in being a leader because if the people on your team are not comfortable with something they are doing than the outcome will be a bad one, especially if we are doing presentations in front of the class.
Michael, I would chose you as a leader just from knowing my experiences with you, you work well with others and have many experiences as a leader throughout your life. You have always made decisions that I can trust and I know that you are always a dependable person.
